Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for business development consultants?
Intel, Nike, and Daimler Trucks North America are among the larger Oregon employers with established visa sponsorship programs. Mid-size SaaS and tech companies in the Portland metro, including firms in the software, cloud services, and semiconductor sectors, have also filed H-1B petitions for business development roles. Sponsorship willingness varies by employer size and hiring urgency, so targeting companies with a documented sponsorship history improves your chances.
What visa types are most common for business development consultant roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development consultants in Oregon, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant specialty field such as business, marketing, or international relations. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa under NAFTA successor rules. Australians may be eligible for the E-3 visa. Some employers also support O-1 visa petitions for candidates with demonstrated distinction in their field.
Which Oregon cities have the most business development consultant visa sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of business development consultant sponsorship opportunities in Oregon, driven by its concentration of technology, logistics, and professional services firms. Beaverton and Hillsboro, home to Intel's large U.S. campus, also generate sponsorship activity. Eugene sees smaller but growing demand tied to its university ecosystem and emerging tech sector. Remote-friendly Oregon employers may also post roles open to candidates regardless of city.
How to find business development consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify business development consultant positions in Oregon without sorting through companies that won't sponsor. You can search by role and state to surface relevant openings across Portland, Beaverton, and beyond. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on sponsorship-friendly employers, which saves significant time compared to unfiltered general job searches.
Are there any Oregon-specific factors to know when pursuing sponsored business development consultant roles?
Oregon participates in the federal prevailing wage system, so sponsoring employers must pay H-1B holders wages that meet Department of Labor wage levels for the specific role and metro area. Portland's designation as a major metropolitan area generally results in higher prevailing wage benchmarks than rural Oregon counties. Oregon has no state income tax withholding exemption tied to visa status, so candidates should factor full state income tax into compensation planning. University of Oregon and Portland State graduate programs also supply a pipeline of candidates competing for similar roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development consultant jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
