Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for compliance specialists?
Portland-area employers with established visa sponsorship programs for compliance roles include Intel, Nike, Adidas North America, Providence Health and Services, and Oregon Health and Science University. Financial institutions such as Umpqua Bank and regional fintech firms also sponsor compliance specialists. Large multinationals in the technology and manufacturing sectors tend to have dedicated HR infrastructure to manage H-1B petitions for these positions.
Which visa types are most common for compliance specialist roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for compliance specialists in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree in law, finance, accounting, or business. Candidates already holding TN status (Canadian or Mexican nationals in certain professional categories) or L-1 intracompany transfers from multinational employers also appear in Oregon compliance hiring. O-1 visas are uncommon for this role.
How to find compliance specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse compliance specialist openings in Oregon without sifting through roles that won't consider international candidates. Search by role and state on Migrate Mate to surface positions from Portland's financial district, tech campuses in Hillsboro, and healthcare networks across the metro area that have active sponsorship histories.
Which cities in Oregon have the most compliance specialist sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of compliance specialist sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of financial services, healthcare systems, and corporate headquarters. Hillsboro, home to Intel's largest U.S. campus, is the next most active location for compliance hiring with visa sponsorship. Beaverton also sees demand through Nike and Adidas operations. Eugene and Salem have smaller markets with occasional openings in healthcare and government contracting.
Are there state-specific or industry factors that affect compliance specialist sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon's semiconductor and advanced manufacturing cluster, centered in the Hillsboro and Washington County area, generates consistent demand for regulatory and export compliance specialists, categories that translate well to H-1B specialty occupation requirements. Oregon Health and Science University and other academic medical centers also serve as visa-sponsoring employers, and nonprofits in Portland occasionally sponsor compliance roles, though their H-1B cap-exempt status depends on specific organizational criteria.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored compliance specialist jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
