Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for corporate accountants?
Oregon's largest employers are among the most active sponsors for corporate accountant roles. Nike (Beaverton), Intel (Hillsboro), and Precision Castparts (Portland) have consistent histories of H-1B filings for accounting and finance positions. Oregon Health and Science University and larger regional financial institutions also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for sponsored accounting roles.
Which visa types are most common for corporate accountant roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for corporate accountants in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates from Australia may use the E-3 visa, Canadians and Mexicans may qualify under TN status using the accountant category, and some senior roles attract L-1 transfers within multinational firms.
Which cities in Oregon have the most corporate accountant visa sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of corporate accountant sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and healthcare systems. Beaverton and Hillsboro, part of the Portland metro, are also significant due to Nike and Intel. Eugene has a smaller but present market tied to the University of Oregon and regional businesses.
How to find corporate accountant visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters corporate accountant roles in Oregon by visa sponsorship availability, saving you time screening out employers who don't sponsor. Because Oregon's sponsoring employers are concentrated among larger firms in the Portland metro and Silicon Forest, using Migrate Mate to target those employers directly is more efficient than broad job searching.
Are there state-specific considerations for corporate accountants seeking sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon does not impose state-level licensing requirements that change the federal H-1B specialty occupation analysis, but employers must still meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements based on the specific Oregon metropolitan area. Portland metro and Hillsboro prevailing wages for accountants are set separately from rural Oregon, so candidates should confirm their prospective employer's LCA reflects the correct geographic area.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored corporate accountant jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
