Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for data science analysts?
Intel, Nike, and Providence Health and Services are among the larger Oregon employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for data and analytics roles. Portland-area health technology companies and financial services firms also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA filings for data science positions. Sponsorship patterns vary by company size and hiring cycle, so checking recent LCA disclosure data gives the clearest picture of active sponsors.
Which visa types are most common for data science analyst roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data science analyst positions in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT, including the 24-month STEM OPT extension, frequently use that period to secure H-1B sponsorship. The O-1A is an option for analysts with exceptional published research or industry recognition.
Which cities in Oregon have the most data science analyst sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of data science analyst sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of technology, retail, healthcare, and financial services employers. Hillsboro, home to Intel's major campus, is a secondary hub for data and analytics hiring. Corvallis and Eugene see smaller volumes tied to Oregon State University and University of Oregon research programs and affiliated employers.
How to find data science analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to browse data science analyst openings in Oregon without manually vetting each employer. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in job postings, using a platform built around that filter saves significant time. On Migrate Mate, you can narrow results by state and role to focus on Oregon-based positions where employers have indicated sponsorship availability.
Are there state-specific considerations for data science analysts pursuing sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon does not have its own state-level work visa program, so federal requirements govern sponsorship entirely. One practical consideration is Oregon's relatively active STEM hiring pipeline from Oregon State University and Portland State University, which means many employers are accustomed to sponsoring international graduates. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications in Oregon must meet the prevailing wage for the specific geographic area, which the Department of Labor determines using local wage surveys.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science analyst jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
