Which companies sponsor visas for DevOps engineers in Oregon?
Intel is one of the most active H-1B sponsors in Oregon, particularly for infrastructure and platform engineering roles at its Hillsboro campus. Nike's global technology division in Beaverton, Salesforce's Portland office, and cloud-focused firms like Puppet (headquartered in Portland) have also appeared in DOL disclosure data for devops and site reliability roles. Larger employers with established immigration programs are generally the most consistent sponsors.
Which visa types are most common for DevOps roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for devops engineers in Oregon, covering roles in infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipeline management, and platform engineering when the position requires a related bachelor's degree or higher. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status under the computer systems analyst category. Candidates with extraordinary ability may also explore the O-1A, though that pathway requires documented recognition in the field.
Which cities in Oregon have the most DevOps sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of devops sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of technology companies, cloud service providers, and digital agencies. Hillsboro, part of the Portland metro area, is significant on its own due to Intel's large engineering workforce. Beaverton adds to the metro's reach through Nike's tech operations. Outside the Portland region, Eugene has a smaller but emerging tech presence connected to the University of Oregon.
How to find devops visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse devops openings in Oregon without sifting through roles that won't support work authorization. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Portland, Hillsboro, or the broader state. Because sponsorship policies change by employer and hiring cycle, checking Migrate Mate regularly gives you the most current picture of which Oregon employers are actively hiring.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for DevOps visa sponsorship candidates?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are tied to the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metropolitan statistical area for most roles, which reflects the region's competitive tech compensation benchmarks. Oregon State University and the University of Oregon produce engineering graduates who enter the local talent pool, meaning employers have domestic options, but specialized devops skills in areas like Kubernetes, Terraform, or AWS remain in consistent demand. Candidates with cloud certifications and platform engineering experience tend to be strongest for sponsored roles in this market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored devops jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
