Which companies sponsor visas for director of project management roles in Oregon?
Intel is one of the most active sponsors in Oregon, particularly for senior project and program management roles tied to its Washington County semiconductor campuses. Nike and Adidas, both headquartered in the Portland metro area, also sponsor visas for senior project leaders in product development and operations. Healthcare systems like Providence Health and Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) have sponsored project management directors in clinical and IT divisions as well.
Which visa types are most common for director of project management roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of project management positions in Oregon, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or computer science. Some candidates, particularly those transferring within multinational companies like Intel or Nike, may qualify for an L-1A intracompany transferee visa. Individuals with exceptional project management achievements may also explore the O-1A category.
Which cities in Oregon have the most director of project management sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro area, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the large majority of director of project management openings in Oregon. Hillsboro in particular is home to Intel's largest U.S. manufacturing presence, generating consistent demand for senior project leaders. Eugene and Corvallis see smaller but notable hiring activity, often tied to the University of Oregon and Oregon State University's research and administrative operations.
How to find director of project management visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter directly for director of project management roles in Oregon to see verified sponsorship opportunities. This is more efficient than searching general job boards, where sponsorship willingness is rarely disclosed upfront. Migrate Mate also provides visa-related context alongside listings so you can assess fit before applying.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for director of project management visa sponsorship candidates?
Oregon's concentration of large multinational employers, especially in semiconductors and consumer goods, means many sponsoring companies have established immigration legal teams and familiarity with the H-1B process. The CHIPS Act has also increased federal investment in Oregon's semiconductor sector, which is sustaining demand for senior project management talent at facilities like Intel's Ronler Acres campus. Candidates with PMP certification and experience in manufacturing or tech delivery cycles are particularly competitive in this market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of project management jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
