Which companies sponsor visas for project executives in Oregon?
Large construction and engineering firms operating in Oregon, including Turner Construction, Skanska, and Mortenson, have histories of sponsoring project executives. Technology companies headquartered in the Portland metro area, such as Intel and Nike at their Oregon campuses, also sponsor senior project leadership roles. Sponsorship is more common at firms with established HR infrastructure and active international hiring programs.
Which visa types are most common for project executive roles in Oregon?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project executives in Oregon, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as civil engineering, architecture, or construction management. The O-1A is an option for candidates with documented extraordinary achievement. Senior professionals transferring within a multinational company may qualify for an L-1A visa as managers or executives.
Which cities in Oregon have the most project executive sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of project executive visa sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its construction boom, technology campuses, and infrastructure investment. Hillsboro, home to Intel's major fabrication facilities, is a secondary hub for senior project leadership hiring. Bend has seen growing demand as its commercial development sector expands, though sponsorship activity there remains smaller than in the Portland metro area.
How to find project executive visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to browse project executive openings in Oregon without sifting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by role type and state to see which Oregon employers are actively hiring project executives who need visa support, saving significant time compared to general job searches.
Are there state-specific considerations for project executives seeking sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon's strong union presence in construction means some project executive roles are tied to prevailing wage requirements that employers must already meet, which aligns with the H-1B's prevailing wage obligations and can simplify compliance for sponsoring firms. Oregon State University and Portland State University also produce engineering and construction management graduates who sometimes enter the workforce on OPT, giving local employers experience with international hiring processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project executive jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
