Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for solutions architects?
Intel is one of the most active sponsors in Oregon, with a large campus in Hillsboro that regularly hires solutions architects for semiconductor and cloud infrastructure work. Salesforce, Nike, and Oracle also have Oregon presences with documented H-1B sponsorship histories. Smaller cloud-native and SaaS companies in the Portland metro have also sponsored solutions architect roles, particularly for AWS, Azure, and GCP specializations.
Which visa types are most common for solutions architect roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for solutions architects in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Some candidates enter through L-1B intracompany transfers when moving from a foreign subsidiary. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN status under the NAFTA-successor agreement, which has no annual cap.
Which cities in Oregon have the most solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of solutions architect sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of enterprise tech, cloud services, and software companies. Hillsboro is a secondary hub due to Intel's large manufacturing and R&D presence, which generates demand for architecture roles across infrastructure and systems. Beaverton and Lake Oswego also see hiring from companies with regional headquarters or satellite offices in those corridors.
How to find solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters solutions architect roles in Oregon to surface employers with active visa sponsorship. Rather than sorting through general job postings, Migrate Mate focuses on companies that have sponsored work visas before, which is particularly useful for this role given that sponsorship willingness varies significantly across Oregon employers. Filtering by location and role type on Migrate Mate narrows the search to relevant opportunities quickly.
Are there state-specific considerations for solutions architects seeking sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon does not have a state income tax advantage or special visa program, but its tech ecosystem benefits from proximity to major Pacific Northwest employers and Oregon State University's strong computer science and electrical engineering programs, which feed local hiring pipelines. Employers filing H-1B petitions for Oregon-based solutions architects must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metropolitan statistical area, which reflects the region's competitive compensation standards for this occupation.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solutions architect jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
