Which companies sponsor visas for strategic business development roles in Oregon?
Nike (Beaverton), Intel (Hillsboro), and Daimler Trucks North America (Portland) are among Oregon's larger employers with established visa sponsorship programs for business development professionals. Oregon's growing clean energy and semiconductor sectors also include companies like SolarWorld and smaller tech firms that have filed Labor Condition Applications for business development roles. Sponsorship capacity varies significantly by employer size and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for strategic business development roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategic business development professionals in Oregon, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as business, marketing, or economics. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable periods. Canadian and Mexican nationals may also explore TN status under relevant business categories.
Which cities in Oregon have the most strategic business development sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of strategic business development sponsorship activity in Oregon, particularly in technology, logistics, and professional services. Hillsboro is notable due to Intel's large campus and its supplier ecosystem, which generates related business development roles. Beaverton, home to Nike's global headquarters, also produces sponsorship filings in this function. Eugene and Bend have smaller but growing tech scenes with occasional sponsorship opportunities.
How to find strategic business development visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Oregon employers actively hiring for strategic business development roles without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by role type and state to surface relevant openings across Portland, Hillsboro, and Beaverton. This saves significant time compared to manually reviewing job descriptions for sponsorship language.
Are there state-specific considerations for strategic business development visa sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon's concentration of semiconductor manufacturing (anchored by Intel in Hillsboro) and its active clean energy sector create consistent demand for business development professionals with technical or engineering backgrounds, which can strengthen H-1B specialty occupation eligibility for appropriately qualified candidates. Oregon has no state income tax on wages earned out of state, though residents pay state income tax. Portland's high concentration of B-Corp and sustainability-focused companies also means international candidates with relevant experience in those sectors may find more receptive employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategic business development jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
