Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for technical solutions architects?
Intel is one of the most active visa sponsors in Oregon, with a large campus in Hillsboro and consistent demand for technical solutions architects. Other notable sponsors include Nike (Beaverton), Salesforce, IBM, and a range of SaaS and cloud infrastructure companies with Portland offices. Larger enterprise technology employers tend to have established immigration programs and in-house or external legal counsel to support H-1B sponsorship.
Which visa types are most commonly used for technical solutions architect roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical solutions architects in Oregon, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with exceptional recognition in their field may qualify for the O-1A. Australians may pursue the E-3, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa for certain engineering classifications.
Which cities in Oregon have the most technical solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs?
Portland is by far the primary market for technical solutions architect roles in Oregon, with the surrounding metro extending into Beaverton and Hillsboro. The Hillsboro area is particularly significant given Intel's large campus there. Salem and Eugene have smaller tech footprints but some employer presence, primarily through healthcare IT, government contractors, and university-affiliated technology organizations.
How to find technical solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters for employers who have a history of visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify technical solutions architect openings in Oregon without sifting through listings from companies unlikely to sponsor. You can filter by role and state to focus your search on Oregon-based positions. This saves significant time compared to broad searches that don't surface sponsorship intent.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for technical solutions architects seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's tech industry is anchored by semiconductor manufacturing, cloud services, and enterprise software, meaning technical solutions architect roles here often require experience with infrastructure, cloud platforms, or hardware-adjacent solutions. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements apply to H-1B petitions, and wages must meet the level set for the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metro area. Oregon also has several university programs, including Oregon State University, that feed engineering talent into the local tech pipeline.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions architect jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
