Search Education Jobs in PennsylvaniaEducation TN Sponsorship Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
Which education employers in Pennsylvania sponsor TN visas?
Large research universities are the most consistent sponsors, including the University of Pennsylvania, Penn State University, Carnegie Mellon University, Temple University, and Drexel University. Major K-12 districts such as the School District of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh Public Schools also hire TN visa-eligible professionals. Community colleges and private institutions like Villanova University and Lehigh University round out the employer pool in this state.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most education TN sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh account for the largest share of education TN sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania, driven by their concentration of universities, medical schools, and large public school districts. State College, home to Penn State's main campus, is also a significant hiring hub. Smaller markets like Bethlehem, Harrisburg, and Lancaster have active community colleges and private colleges that occasionally sponsor TN workers.
What types of education roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship in Pennsylvania?
The TN visa covers a defined list of occupations, and in education the most common qualifying roles are college and university professors, scientific researchers, and counselors with graduate-level credentials. Curriculum designers, academic advisors holding at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and certain school psychologists may also qualify. Roles that do not require a specific degree or that fall under general administration typically do not meet TN specialty occupation requirements.
How do I find education TN sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface education roles in Pennsylvania where employers have a history of TN sponsorship. Because TN eligibility depends on both the job title and your credentials, it helps to review the official TN occupation list alongside any roles you find on Migrate Mate to confirm your specific position qualifies before applying.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in education?
Pennsylvania requires teacher certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Education for K-12 classroom roles, which is a separate process from TN visa approval and can affect timelines. At the university level, positions funded through federal grants or subject to export control regulations may involve additional compliance steps. Canadian citizens can generally apply for TN status directly at a port of entry, while Mexican nationals must obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate in advance.
