Which sports companies sponsor TN visas in South Carolina?
University of South Carolina Athletics and Clemson University are among the most active sponsors, hiring for sports medicine, athletic training, and performance analysis roles. The Carolina Panthers' Charlotte-area operations extend into South Carolina markets. Minor league baseball teams, private sports medicine clinics, and recreation management firms at resort destinations like Myrtle Beach also appear in TN visa sponsorship filings.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most sports TN sponsorship jobs?
Columbia leads due to the University of South Carolina's large athletics program and concentration of sports medicine practices near its medical district. Greenville has grown as a hub for youth sports organizations and private athletic training facilities. Charleston attracts roles in recreational sports programming and hospitality-connected fitness operations. Clemson, though a smaller city, generates consistent openings tied to its Division I athletics department.
What types of sports roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN status applies to USMCA-defined occupational categories, so the role's job duties must align with a qualifying profession. In sports, this commonly includes athletic trainers with a recognized credential, physical therapists working with athletic populations, sports nutritionists with a relevant degree, kinesiologists, and sports psychologists. Coaching roles and general sports management positions typically do not qualify under TN because they lack a degree-specific professional category in the USMCA occupations list.
How do I find sports TN sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by TN visa sponsorship and state, so you can browse verified sports roles in South Carolina without sorting through positions that won't support your visa status. Because TN sponsorship in sports is concentrated among universities, medical networks, and select private employers, filtering by both industry and visa type on Migrate Mate gives you a much shorter, more relevant list than a general job search.
Are there any state-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in South Carolina's sports industry?
South Carolina's sports hiring is heavily tied to its university system and the academic calendar, so many positions open in spring for fall starts. Athletic training and sports medicine roles in South Carolina may require state licensure in addition to TN status, and employers generally expect candidates to hold or be eligible for South Carolina licensure before the hire date. Verifying both the occupational and licensing requirements with the prospective employer before applying is important.
