Which sports companies sponsor TN visas in Washington state?
Washington's professional franchises are among the most active TN visa sponsors in the sports sector. The Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders FC, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Kraken, and Seattle Storm have all filed Labor Condition Applications for sports-related roles. University athletic departments at the University of Washington and Washington State University also hire TN-eligible professionals in training, rehabilitation, and performance analysis positions.
Which cities in Washington have the most sports TN sponsorship jobs?
Seattle concentrates the majority of sports TN sponsorship activity, driven by five major professional franchises and a dense network of sports medicine clinics, fitness organizations, and university programs. Tacoma supports roles tied to the Tacoma Rainiers and multiuse sports facilities. Spokane, home to minor league sports and Eastern Washington University athletics, offers additional opportunities for Canadian and Mexican professionals in smaller-market settings.
What types of sports roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN-eligible sports roles must fall within the USMCA's defined occupation categories and require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Athletic trainers, physical therapists, kinesiologists, exercise physiologists, sports nutritionists, and sports scientists commonly qualify. Team physicians and psychologists can also qualify under their respective professional categories. General coaching, scouting, and front-office management roles are less straightforward and depend on the specific duties and educational requirements involved.
How do I find sports TN sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for employers with verified TN sponsorship history in Washington's sports sector, saving you from manually cross-referencing DOL disclosure data. You can search by occupation type, city, and employer to identify which Washington sports organizations have actively filed for TN workers. This is particularly useful for targeting professional teams, university athletic departments, and sports medicine practices that may not advertise sponsorship availability in standard job postings.
Are there state-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in Washington's sports industry?
Washington's licensing requirements add an important layer for certain sports roles. Physical therapists and athletic trainers must hold a valid Washington state license before or shortly after starting work, and some employers require proof of eligibility before initiating TN paperwork. Washington also has no state income tax, which affects total compensation comparisons. For roles based at tribal-owned sports or recreation facilities, employment structures can vary and are worth confirming directly with the employer during the offer stage.
