Which companies sponsor visas for development managers in Tennessee?
HCA Healthcare and its affiliated technology subsidiaries are among the most active H-1B sponsors for development managers in Tennessee. Nissan's North American headquarters in Smyrna, Asurion in Nashville, and regional offices of national consulting firms including Deloitte and Accenture have filed sponsorship petitions for development management roles. Healthcare IT companies clustered along Nashville's midtown corridor represent a particularly consistent source of sponsorship activity.
Which visa types are most common for development manager roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for development managers in Tennessee, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. L-1A transfers apply when candidates are moving from a foreign affiliate of a U.S.-based employer into a management position. O-1 visa petitions are occasionally filed for candidates with documented extraordinary achievement in their field.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most development manager sponsorship jobs?
Nashville accounts for the largest share of development manager sponsorship activity in Tennessee, driven by its healthcare IT, fintech, and enterprise software sectors. Brentwood and Franklin, both in the greater Nashville metro, host corporate headquarters for several large employers with active sponsorship histories. Chattanooga has attracted technology investment connected to its fiber infrastructure, while Memphis generates opportunities through logistics, supply chain technology, and healthcare organizations operating in the region.
How to find development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse development manager roles in Tennessee without sorting through positions that won't support your immigration needs. The platform aggregates openings across Nashville's healthcare technology sector, Chattanooga's growing tech presence, and statewide enterprise employers. Setting up role and location filters on Migrate Mate helps you identify which companies are actively hiring sponsored candidates for development management positions.
Are there state-specific considerations for development managers seeking sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects how employers structure total compensation packages but does not change federal visa requirements. The state's concentration of healthcare IT employers means development managers with backgrounds in regulated industries, including HL7 integration, EHR platforms, or HIPAA-compliant systems, are well positioned. Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee both produce graduate talent pipelines that some employers draw from when building development teams, making university-adjacent hiring a relevant consideration.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored development manager jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
