Which companies sponsor visas for human resources assistants in Tennessee?
Tennessee employers with documented H-1B sponsorship activity in HR functions include HCA Healthcare and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, FedEx in Memphis, and large manufacturers operating in the Chattanooga corridor. Universities such as the University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt University also sponsor HR roles. Sponsorship is not guaranteed, and each employer evaluates petitions case by case.
Which visa types are most common for human resources assistant roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for human resources assistant roles, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. Some candidates also enter through OPT or STEM OPT extensions after graduating from Tennessee universities. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying HR classifications.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most human resources assistant sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads the state for HR assistant sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of healthcare networks, corporate headquarters, and a growing tech sector. Memphis follows, anchored by logistics and distribution employers like FedEx and AutoZone. Knoxville and Chattanooga are smaller markets but have consistent HR hiring tied to manufacturing and the University of Tennessee system.
How to find human resources assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers have indicated visa sponsorship availability, including human resources assistant positions in Tennessee. You can search by state and job title to surface relevant openings in Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville without sorting through listings from employers unlikely to sponsor. This focused approach saves time during an already demanding job search.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for human resources assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Tennessee has no state-level work visa requirements beyond federal H-1B rules, but HR assistant petitions face scrutiny over specialty occupation status since some employers post these roles without a strict degree requirement. Applicants from Tennessee's university programs, particularly UT Knoxville and Middle Tennessee State University, may have OPT pathways that give them initial U.S. work authorization while pursuing longer-term sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored human resources assistant jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
