Position Summary
Responsible for patient food service on assigned units; menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up special requests and needs in between meal and food delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembles trays, places menu ticket on tray and delivers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Completes patient daily rounds to ensure patients’ needs are met. Communicates any patient related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Daily prepares salad bar, inventories stock, restocks medical floor, emergency room, and physician lounge. Records daily refrigerator temperatures & if out of range notifies supervisor.
- Demonstrates initiative in increasing skills and attends training programs as available, cross training when requested.
- Follows appropriate guidelines for par levels (inventory items) for pantry areas, supplements and menu ordering.
- Interacts daily with Nursing to ensure patients’ diet prescriptions are accurate and patients’ food needs are met.
- Reviews menu selections prior to each meal & complies with dietary restrictions on modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within the guidelines of the diet order limitations.
- Performs other tasks that promote teamwork, supports goals (assists with special functions, etc.).
- Maintains accurate and current information for each patient on assigned floors.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary work environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)
- 1 Year of Health Care Commercial Food Service Experience (Preferred)
