Which companies sponsor visas for contract administrators in Texas?
Energy giants like Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Halliburton in Houston regularly sponsor contract administrators, as do defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin and Raytheon in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Large engineering and construction firms including Fluor and Jacobs Engineering also have established sponsorship records. These employers typically have dedicated immigration support teams and experience managing H-1B visa petitions for contract management roles.
Which visa types are most common for contract administrator roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for contract administrators in Texas, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration, supply chain management, or engineering. Some employers in energy and defense also sponsor TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. Contract administrators with exceptional credentials may also qualify under the O-1 visa category, though this is far less common.
Which cities in Texas have the most contract administrator sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads by a significant margin, driven by its concentration of energy, petrochemical, and engineering firms. Dallas-Fort Worth is the second-largest market, anchored by defense contractors, telecom companies, and corporate headquarters. San Antonio has a growing defense and federal contracting sector tied to military installations like Fort Sam Houston. Austin's expanding tech and semiconductor industry is also generating contract administrator demand.
How to find contract administrator visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters contract administrator roles in Texas by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through listings that won't support work authorization. You can browse by city, industry, or employer type to find roles in Houston's energy sector or the Dallas-Fort Worth defense corridor. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with documented sponsorship histories, making the search more targeted than general job boards.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for contract administrators seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how employers calculate prevailing wage compliance under Department of Labor requirements for H-1B petitions. The state's heavy concentration in energy and defense also means many roles touch federal contracting, which can involve security clearance requirements that complicate sponsorship for international candidates. Candidates with degrees from Texas A&M, UT Austin, or Rice University may find stronger employer pipelines given those institutions' industry ties.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored contract administrator jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
