Which e-commerce companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Texas?
Texas-based e-commerce employers that have historically brought on CPT students include Dell Technologies (Round Rock), Newegg (with U.S. operations touching Texas logistics), and a range of Austin and Dallas-based direct-to-consumer brands and marketplace startups. Large retailers with Texas headquarters or major regional offices, such as GameStop and Tuesday Morning, have also offered CPT-eligible internship roles in e-commerce functions.
Which cities in Texas have the most e-commerce F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads for e-commerce CPT roles, driven by its dense tech and startup ecosystem where many direct-to-consumer and SaaS-for-e-commerce companies are headquartered. Dallas-Fort Worth is the second-strongest market, particularly for supply chain, logistics, and marketplace operations roles tied to large retail and distribution networks. Houston offers a smaller but active market, especially in e-commerce roles connected to energy-sector procurement platforms and regional consumer brands.
What types of e-commerce roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Roles that align directly with a student's degree program are eligible for CPT authorization. In e-commerce, this commonly includes positions in digital marketing, SEO and paid media, data analytics, UX and product design, software engineering, supply chain management, and marketplace strategy. The role must be a required or integral part of the student's curriculum, and the student's Designated School Official must approve the specific position before work begins.
How do I find e-commerce F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, including F-1 CPT, and by industry, so you can browse e-commerce roles in Texas without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Beyond Migrate Mate, target Austin and Dallas-based e-commerce companies directly through their careers pages, and engage your university's career center, since CPT requires DSO approval and school-specific internship connections can open doors that general searches miss.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in e-commerce?
Texas has no state income tax, which is a practical consideration for CPT students comparing offers across states. More relevant to CPT eligibility: Texas universities each set their own CPT authorization timelines and credit-hour requirements, so deadlines at UT Austin, Texas A&M, or SMU will differ. For e-commerce roles specifically, confirm that the job description maps clearly to your program of study before your DSO submits the CPT request, since generic internship titles can complicate authorization.
