Search Insurance Jobs in TexasInsurance CPT Sponsorship Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
Which insurance companies in Texas are known to sponsor F-1 CPT visas?
USAA, headquartered in San Antonio, is one of the most active employers of F-1 CPT students in Texas insurance. State Farm, Allstate, and Travelers all maintain significant Texas operations and have historically worked with CPT students in internship and co-op roles. Regional carriers and insurance technology firms in Austin and Dallas also participate, though CPT eligibility depends on your school's authorization and the employer's willingness to structure the role accordingly.
Which cities in Texas have the most insurance F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads in volume, driven by its concentration of energy-sector insurers and large commercial lines operations. Dallas-Fort Worth is the second major hub, home to corporate offices for several national carriers and a growing insurtech sector. San Antonio stands out specifically because of USAA's headquarters. Austin has fewer traditional insurance employers but offers opportunities at insurance technology and data-driven startups that recruit F-1 CPT students.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Texas?
Roles that align directly with a student's academic program are the most likely to qualify. Actuarial internships, underwriting analyst positions, data analytics roles, risk management, and claims analysis are common CPT-eligible placements at Texas insurers. Software engineering and data science roles at insurtech firms also qualify for students in STEM programs. CPT authorization must be granted by your Designated School Official and tied to a course credit or graduation requirement at your institution.
How do I find insurance F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, so you can search directly for insurance roles in Texas that are open to F-1 CPT candidates without sifting through postings that won't consider work authorization. Beyond the platform, targeting employers with established internship programs, reaching out to university career centers with insurance industry partnerships, and focusing on companies with a documented history of CPT placements in Texas will improve your results.
Are there any Texas-specific or insurance-industry considerations for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Texas does not impose state-level visa restrictions, but the Texas Department of Insurance regulates the industry heavily, which means some roles, particularly those involving licensed activities like selling or adjusting claims, may require a Texas insurance license that F-1 students would need to obtain independently. Most CPT-eligible roles sit in analytics, operations, or technology and avoid licensing requirements. Students should confirm with their DSO that the job offer letter specifies the role, dates, and employer before CPT is authorized.
