Which companies sponsor visas for manufacturing technicians in Texas?
Several large manufacturers in Texas have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for technicians. Samsung's semiconductor fab in Taylor, Tesla's Gigafactory in Austin, Flex's operations in the DFW area, and Raytheon's facilities in McKinney and El Paso are among the notable employers. Medical device manufacturers like Abbott and Boston Scientific also sponsor technicians at their Texas facilities. Sponsorship availability varies by role, facility, and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for manufacturing technician roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for manufacturing technicians in Texas, but it requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field is generally required. Some technician roles in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication, or precision engineering meet this standard. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals for qualifying engineering and technical roles under USMCA.
Which cities in Texas have the most manufacturing technician sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads due to its semiconductor and electronics manufacturing growth, anchored by Samsung's Taylor fab and Tesla's Gigafactory. The Dallas-Fort Worth metro has a dense concentration of aerospace, defense, and electronics manufacturers including Raytheon, L3Harris, and Flex. Houston remains strong in energy-adjacent manufacturing and industrial equipment. San Antonio has growing advanced manufacturing activity tied to Toyota's North American truck plant and military aerospace contractors.
How to find manufacturing technician visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa sponsorship roles in the U.S. You can filter by state and job category to browse manufacturing technician positions in Texas from employers with a history of sponsoring work visas. This removes the guesswork of identifying which companies are open to sponsoring, which is one of the most time-consuming parts of the search for technicians targeting Texas facilities.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for manufacturing technicians in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons employers must meet under Department of Labor requirements for H-1B sponsorship. The state's strong university pipeline, including programs at UT Austin, Texas A&M, and UT Dallas, means employers are familiar with sponsoring international graduates into technical roles. Texas's semiconductor and aerospace industry growth has also increased the volume of employers actively petitioning for technician-level positions in recent years.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manufacturing technician jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
