Which companies sponsor visas for risk analysts in Texas?
Several large Texas-based employers have consistent track records of sponsoring risk analysts. In Houston, ExxonMobil, Chevron, and major banks including JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo file H-1B visa petitions for quantitative and credit risk roles. In Dallas-Fort Worth, Citi, Bank of America, and insurance companies like State Farm and Farmers Insurance are active sponsors. Consulting firms such as Deloitte and KPMG, with large Texas offices, also sponsor risk analysts regularly.
Which visa types are most common for risk analyst roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for risk analysts in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. Candidates from Australia may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category, which also covers financial analysts and certain quantitative roles.
Which cities in Texas have the most risk analyst sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads Texas for risk analyst sponsorship, driven by its concentration of energy companies, refineries, and commodity trading firms that require credit, market, and operational risk professionals. Dallas-Fort Worth is the second-largest hub, with strong demand from regional banks, insurance carriers, and corporate treasury departments. Austin has grown steadily as fintech and tech-adjacent financial firms expand there, creating openings for model risk and data-driven risk analyst roles.
How to find risk analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse risk analyst openings in Texas without sorting through roles that don't sponsor. You can filter by city, so Houston energy firms, Dallas banks, and Austin fintech companies all appear separately. Because risk analyst roles vary widely by industry in Texas, using Migrate Mate's role-specific search helps surface positions matched to your background in credit, market, or operational risk.
Are there state-specific considerations for risk analyst sponsorship in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since employers filing Labor Condition Applications must meet Department of Labor wage levels for the specific metropolitan area. Houston, Dallas, and Austin each have distinct prevailing wage benchmarks for risk analyst roles. Texas also benefits from strong university pipelines, with graduates from UT Austin, Rice University, and Texas A&M regularly entering quantitative finance and risk roles that attract sponsoring employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored risk analyst jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
