Which companies sponsor visas for risk analysts in Wisconsin?
Milwaukee-based firms are the most active sponsors for risk analyst roles in Wisconsin. Northwestern Mutual, American Family Insurance, Fiserv, and Baird have all filed H-1B visa petitions for analytical and finance roles in recent years. Healthcare organizations like Froedtert Health and Aurora Health Care also hire risk analysts and have sponsored international candidates, particularly for roles involving data analysis, compliance, and financial risk modeling.
Which visa types are most common for risk analyst roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for risk analysts in Wisconsin, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, economics, or a related field. Candidates with advanced degrees may be eligible for the H-1B master's cap exemption, which improves selection odds. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals working in qualifying analytical roles under USMCA.
How to find risk analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, making it straightforward to find risk analyst roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that won't consider international candidates. Search for risk analyst roles filtered to Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, then prioritize applications to employers in Milwaukee's financial district and Madison's insurance sector, where sponsorship precedent is strongest based on historical H-1B filing data.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most risk analyst sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for risk analyst sponsorship, driven by its concentration of insurance carriers, financial services firms, and fintech companies. Madison is the second-largest market, with opportunities at insurance companies, state government agencies, and University of Wisconsin-affiliated research organizations. Smaller markets like Green Bay and Waukesha do have some financial services employers, but sponsorship activity is considerably more concentrated in Milwaukee and Madison.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific factors risk analysts should know before applying for sponsored roles?
Wisconsin's insurance and financial services sector is one of the largest employers of risk analysts in the Midwest, which creates consistent demand for quantitative talent. The University of Wisconsin-Madison produces a steady pipeline of domestic graduates in actuarial science and statistics, so international applicants benefit from highlighting specialized technical skills or advanced degrees that differentiate them. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific role and location, which are publicly searchable through the DOL's OFLC database.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored risk analyst jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
