Technology companies concentrated along the Silicon Slopes corridor are among the most active sponsors for business development manager roles in Utah. Adobe's Lehi campus, Qualtrics, Domo, and a range of SaaS and fintech firms have filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for BD positions. Large enterprises with existing immigration infrastructure are generally better positioned to sponsor than early-stage startups.
Which visa types are most common for business development manager roles in Utah?

Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA professional category. Australian citizens may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is employer-sponsored through a similar process.
Which cities in Utah have the most business development manager sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and Lehi account for the majority of business development manager sponsorship activity in Utah. Lehi, often called Silicon Slopes, hosts a high concentration of tech employers who regularly hire internationally for BD roles. Provo is also notable given its proximity to Brigham Young University and a growing cluster of software and analytics companies that hire experienced BD professionals.

You can narrow results by location, visa type, and industry to focus on the Silicon Slopes and Salt Lake City employers most relevant to your background and work authorization needs.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for business development managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Utah's tech industry draws heavily from local universities including the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, which means employers are experienced with OPT and H-1B transitions for international graduates. Business development manager roles in Utah are typically classified as specialty occupations when they require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, but employers will evaluate each role individually. Prevailing wage requirements apply and vary by county and experience level.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development manager jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
