Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for contract administrators?
Defense and aerospace employers along the Wasatch Front, including Northrop Grumman, L3Harris, and Boeing's Utah operations, have histories of sponsoring skilled professionals. Large construction and engineering firms such as Hensel Phelps and Okland Construction also operate in Utah and occasionally sponsor contract administrators. Government contractors working on Hill Air Force Base projects represent another active hiring segment worth targeting.
What visa types are most common for contract administrator roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for contract administrators in Utah, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, construction management, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation threshold. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business categories. Candidates already holding an O-1 or with an approved I-140 may also find employers willing to support those pathways.
How to find contract administrator visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find contract administrator openings in Utah without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by location within Utah, including Salt Lake City and Provo, and filter for your visa type. This saves significant time compared to manually vetting postings across general job sources.
Which cities in Utah have the most contract administrator sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of contract administrator openings in Utah, driven by its concentration of defense contractors, construction firms, and corporate headquarters. Provo and Orem form a secondary hub tied to the tech and university sectors. Ogden, adjacent to Hill Air Force Base, generates defense-related contract administration demand that can extend to sponsored positions.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for contract administrator visa sponsorship?
Utah's strong defense contracting sector means some contract administrator positions require security clearances, which non-citizens can face barriers obtaining, narrowing the pool of sponsoring employers. The state's construction boom has expanded demand in project and contract management, but prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B mean employers must pay the Department of Labor's determined wage for the Salt Lake City or relevant metro area, not a discounted rate.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored contract administrator jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
