In partnership with regional leadership, Alternative Delivery team, and project teams, the ADSPM shapes delivery strategy, leads pre-award and post-award activities, and drives performance against scope, schedule, quality, and financial objectives. This role also reinforces consistent delivery practices and strengthens client and partner relationships.
Beyond the focused project delivery work, the ADSPM also supports regional business development and account management by maintaining contractor relationships, identifying opportunities, coordinating follow-through with local and regional leadership, and contributing to regional pipeline planning. The ADSPM may also provide executive oversight on behalf of the region on smaller alternative delivery opportunities.
Job Duties:

- Support business development and capture activities, including teaming coordination, pursuit planning, proposal and fee development, scope definition, procurement responses, and interview preparation.
- Serve as a senior point of coordination for contractor clients, subconsultants, and internal teams, promoting clear communication, timely decision-making, executive alignment, and strong working relationships on alternative delivery projects.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project management plans, work plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers, implementing corrective actions as needed to support performance.
- Lead multidisciplinary technical teams and delivery reviews to ensure alignment with project requirements, contractual obligations, commercial objectives, and quality expectations.
- Lead project phase transitions and closeout activities to maintain continuity, documentation quality, and alignment with business and client objectives.
- Lead lessons learned and after-action reviews, and contribute to the improvement of alternative delivery tools, templates, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in relevant industry organizations and events related to alternative delivery and support strategic initiatives as directed by leadership.
- Adhere to all internal processes, ethical standards, and company policies, and perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Which companies sponsor visas for program directors in Utah?
Intermountain Health is one of Utah's largest employers of program directors and has an established history of H-1B visa sponsorship. The University of Utah and Utah Valley University sponsor program directors in research and academic administration. Technology companies in the Silicon Slopes corridor, including Adobe and Qualtrics, have also filed H-1B petitions for senior program leadership roles. Federal contractors near Hill Air Force Base in Ogden sponsor program directors for defense and logistics programs.
Which visa types are most common for program director roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program directors in Utah, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specialized field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Universities and affiliated research institutions can also sponsor program directors through the cap-exempt H-1B pathway, bypassing the annual lottery. Candidates with extraordinary ability in their field may also explore the O-1A visa, though the evidentiary bar is high.
Which cities in Utah have the most program director sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of program director sponsorship opportunities in Utah, driven by Intermountain Health, the University of Utah, and a dense cluster of technology firms. Provo and the broader Utah County area, often called Silicon Slopes, is home to fast-growing software companies that hire senior program leaders. Ogden attracts program directors through federal contracting work tied to Hill Air Force Base.
How to find program director visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters program director roles specifically by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through listings that don't apply to international candidates. You can search within Utah to surface opportunities at Intermountain Health, Silicon Slopes tech companies, and university employers that have documented sponsorship histories. Setting up alerts for program director roles in Utah on Migrate Mate helps you respond quickly to new postings at employers already familiar with the H-1B process.
Are there state-specific or role-specific factors that affect program director visa sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's prevailing wage requirements for program directors are determined by the Department of Labor based on the Salt Lake City or Ogden metropolitan areas, which can differ meaningfully from national averages. Employers filing a Labor Condition Application must attest they will pay at least the prevailing wage for the specific location. Utah's strong university system, particularly the University of Utah's research programs, creates a consistent pipeline of international professionals already in the U.S. on F-1 or J-1 visa status who transition into program director roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program director jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
