ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to join our team. This role will primarily focus on accounts receivable and revenue operations, supporting projects in collaboration with general contractors. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of project-based accounting, and the ability to manage billing and revenue processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project-based Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, progress billing, and collections
- Partner with general contractors to ensure accurate billing, contract compliance, and timely payments
- Oversee revenue operations, including revenue tracking and recognition in accordance with company policies
- Prepare and submit AIA billings, lien waivers, and other construction-related documentation
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and billings to ensure alignment and identify discrepancies
- Assist with month-end close, including revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Maintain accurate project records and support audit requests as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and project management teams
- Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and enhance cash flow
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in project accounting, construction, or manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of AR processes, revenue recognition, and project-based accounting
- Experience working with general contractors and construction billing processes (AIA billing experience preferred)
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with both internal teams and external partners
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
