Which companies sponsor visas for risk analysts in Utah?
Zions Bancorporation is one of Utah's most active sponsors for risk analyst roles, alongside regional insurance firms and fintech companies based in the Salt Lake City area. Larger national employers with Utah offices, including Goldman Sachs and financial technology companies in the Silicon Slopes corridor, have also filed Labor Condition Applications for risk analyst positions in recent years.
Which visa types are most common for risk analyst roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for risk analysts in Utah, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Candidates with advanced degrees may also be eligible for H-1B cap exemption through university-affiliated employers, and some multinational firms use the L-1B for intracompany transfers into analyst positions.
Which cities in Utah have the most risk analyst sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City concentrates the majority of risk analyst sponsorship opportunities in Utah, driven by its established banking, insurance, and fintech sectors. The broader Wasatch Front, including Provo and Orem, has seen growing demand tied to the Silicon Slopes technology corridor. Ogden hosts a smaller but active market, particularly among financial services firms with regional operations.
How to find risk analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that include visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for risk analyst positions in Utah without sifting through listings that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by location, role type, and sponsorship status. Given that sponsorship availability varies widely by employer in Utah's market, using a dedicated tool like Migrate Mate saves significant time.
What should risk analysts know about Utah's sponsorship market before applying?
Utah's risk analyst roles are concentrated in regulated industries like banking and insurance, where employers are generally experienced with H-1B sponsorship processes. The University of Utah and Brigham Young University produce strong domestic pipelines, so international candidates benefit from differentiating through quantitative skills, certifications like FRM or CFA progress, and demonstrated experience with risk modeling or regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to U.S. financial institutions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored risk analyst jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
