We find purpose in proactively protecting and keeping our customers connected to home, no matter where they are. Join the Smart Home team to create smarter, safer and more sustainable homes.
Job Summary
We’re seeking an Enablement Specialist who will design and build scalable internal systems that power how teams operate. This role focuses on architecting Airtable-based solutions at the intersection of people and data.
This is not an administrative support role. You will not simply maintain tables or manage permissions. You will analyze how work happens, design relational data models that reflect reality, and build tools that reduce friction across departments.
The systems you create should feel intuitive to users and structurally sound under the hood.
You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate messy, human workflows into clear, maintainable, and scalable systems that drive consistent execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, structure, and maintain Airtable bases with sound relational architecture and clean data models
- Build role-based interfaces aligned to how different teams think and operate
- Create and manage automations that reduce manual effort, prevent errors, and improve visibility
- Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and scale
- Partner with stakeholders to clarify pain points and translate ambiguity into structured systems
- Balance usability with technical integrity so solutions are both powerful and practical
- Ensure data consistency, hygiene, and long-term maintainability across solutions
- Use feedback and usage patterns to continuously improve systems
- Produce documentation, usage guides, and process standards to support adoption
- Collaborate with operations, product, and leadership to prioritize enhancements and align systems to business objectives
Required Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of experience building in Airtable, database, or comparable no/low-code platforms
- Strong understanding of relational data structures, field types, normalization, and scalable schema design
- Experience building automations, integrations, and conditional logic
- Ability to translate ambiguous, people-driven workflows into structured systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience managing multiple initiatives while thinking long-term about architecture
- Comfort iterating, testing, and refining solutions based on real-world usage
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to clarity, structure, and user experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting shared systems across multiple teams or departments
- Familiarity with Zapier, Make, APIs, or other integration platforms
- Basic understanding of data governance and access controls
- Experience in enablement, operations, or field-facing environments
- Familiarity with AI tools, structured data for LLM use cases, or workflow optimization
- Familiarity with SQL and querying databases
Competencies & Mindset
- Systems thinker who looks for root causes rather than surface fixes
- Naturally curious and analytical; asks “why” before building “how”
- Comfortable operating at the intersection of human behavior and structured data
- Strong collaborator across departments
- Builds for durability and scale, not quick patches
- Takes ownership and pride in creating tools others rely on daily
Working Conditions
- Full-time
- Hybrid work possible (depending on policy)
- Periodic in-person collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Some initiatives may have tight timelines; flexibility is important
Salary & Benefits
Salary: $75–$80k per year, depending on experience
Benefits: Health, dental, vision, retirement matching, paid time off, on-site cafe, and more.
NRG Energy is committed to a drug and alcohol-free workplace. To the extent permitted by law and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, employees are subject to periodic random drug testing, and post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing. EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability. Level, Title and/or Salary may be adjusted based on the applicant's experience or skills.

Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for technical solutions architects?
Several established employers in Utah have sponsored H-1B visas for technical solutions architect roles. Adobe, Qualtrics, Domo, and Pluralsight are among the technology companies headquartered or with significant operations in Utah that have a documented history of sponsoring specialty occupation workers. Large enterprise and cloud software firms in Silicon Slopes are generally the most active sponsors for this role type.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions architect roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical solutions architects in Utah, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA engineer or systems analyst categories. Australian citizens may explore the E-3 visa as an alternative to the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in Utah have the most technical solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and the Silicon Slopes corridor, which runs through Lehi, Draper, and Provo, concentrate the majority of technical solutions architect positions with sponsorship potential in Utah. Lehi in particular hosts a dense cluster of software and SaaS companies. Salt Lake City also attracts enterprise technology and financial technology employers that regularly hire for architect-level technical roles requiring deep product and integration expertise.
How to find technical solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify technical solutions architect openings in Utah where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. Rather than sorting through general job boards and guessing at sponsorship status, you can search directly for this role within Utah on Migrate Mate to find opportunities matched to international candidates. The platform is built for exactly this use case.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for technical solutions architects seeking visa sponsorship?
Utah's tech sector is concentrated in the Silicon Slopes region, where a pipeline of graduates from Brigham Young University, the University of Utah, and Utah Valley University feeds employer hiring. Employers sponsoring H-1B visas for technical solutions architects must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the Salt Lake City or Provo metropolitan areas, which reflect local market rates for the role. Competition for sponsoring employers is real but the region's tech density helps.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions architect jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
