The core responsibilities of this position include teaching six courses per year, three each during the spring and fall terms. This is a three-year, tenure-ineligible appointment without the possibility of renewal. (This is a non-renewable appointment.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, applicants should hold an MA in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field at the time of appointment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant will preferably hold a PhD in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field, or an MFA in Creative Writing at the time of appointment. Also, successful applicants will have experience teaching first-year writing courses, using an inquiry-based approach, as well as introductory literature courses or introductory creative writing courses. This teaching experience should be at the college level.
