Search Business Development Manager Jobs in WashingtonBusiness Development Manager Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for business development managers in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce, and Tableau are among the most active sponsors for business development manager roles in Washington. Beyond major tech employers, companies in cloud infrastructure, enterprise SaaS, and global logistics operating out of Seattle and Bellevue also sponsor regularly. Checking Department of Labor LCA disclosure data by employer name is a reliable way to confirm past sponsorship activity for this specific role type.
Which visa types are most common for business development manager roles in Washington?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for business development managers in Washington, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or international relations and is structured as a specialty occupation. The L-1B and L-1A are also relevant for candidates transferring from a foreign office of a multinational employer. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery.
Which cities in Washington have the most business development manager sponsorship jobs?
Seattle accounts for the largest share of business development manager sponsorship activity in Washington, particularly within enterprise technology and cloud services companies concentrated in South Lake Union and the broader metro area. Bellevue and Redmond are close behind, driven largely by Microsoft's campus and a dense cluster of mid-size software companies. Kirkland has also grown as a secondary hub for tech-adjacent BD roles.
How to find business development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa sponsorship roles, including business development manager positions in Washington. You can filter by state and job title to see employers that have a history of sponsoring work visas for this role type. Because BDM positions vary significantly in how they're classified for visa purposes, targeting employers with confirmed LCA filings for similar roles is a practical starting point.
Are there any Washington-specific factors that affect sponsorship for business development manager roles?
Washington's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are benchmarked to metro-area wage surveys, and Seattle's high cost of living means prevailing wages for business development managers in King County are typically set at a competitive level relative to national averages. Employers sponsoring BDM roles here must certify on the Labor Condition Application that the offered position meets that standard. University pipelines from the University of Washington and Washington State University also supply internationally enrolled MBA candidates who pursue sponsorship in-state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development manager jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
