Which companies sponsor visas for nursing assistants in Washington?
The largest sponsors of nursing assistant visa sponsorship in Washington tend to be major hospital systems and long-term care organizations. UW Medicine, Providence Health and Services, MultiCare Health System, and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health have historically filed for healthcare support workers. Smaller skilled nursing facilities and assisted living operators across the state also sponsor, though capacity and consistency vary by facility.
Which visa types are most common for nursing assistant roles in Washington?
Most nursing assistant sponsorship in Washington occurs through the EB-3 immigrant visa category, which covers skilled and unskilled workers and is commonly used for long-term care and hospital support roles. Some employers also use the H-2B visa temporary worker visa for short-term or seasonal positions. The H-1B visa is generally not applicable to nursing assistant roles, as the position does not typically meet specialty occupation requirements.
Which cities in Washington have the most nursing assistant sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and its surrounding metro, including Bellevue and Renton, concentrate the largest volume of nursing assistant sponsorship opportunities due to the density of hospital campuses and health systems. Tacoma and Spokane also show consistent demand, driven by MultiCare and Providence facilities respectively. Rural areas, including eastern Washington communities, sometimes actively recruit internationally due to persistent local workforce shortages.
How to find nursing assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship. For nursing assistant roles in Washington, you can filter by state and role to surface employers who have active sponsorship openings. Because sponsorship availability changes frequently in healthcare, checking Migrate Mate regularly gives you the most current picture of which Washington employers are hiring internationally.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for nursing assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Washington requires nursing assistants to hold a current Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C) credential, registered through the Washington State Department of Health. International candidates need to plan for credential recognition and any required testing before starting work. Washington's prevailing wage requirements apply to sponsored positions, meaning employers must meet state and federal wage standards as part of the sponsorship process. Long-term care facilities in the state have shown consistent sponsorship activity given persistent staffing gaps.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing assistant jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
