Which companies sponsor visas for senior DevOps engineers in Washington?
Microsoft and Amazon are the most active H-1B sponsors for senior DevOps engineers in Washington, with consistent filings across platform engineering, site reliability, and cloud infrastructure roles. Other notable sponsors include Boeing, Expedia Group, T-Mobile, Tableau (Salesforce), and a range of mid-size SaaS and cloud companies headquartered in the Seattle metro. DOL LCA disclosure data confirms these employers file regularly for senior-level DevOps positions.
Which visa types are most common for senior DevOps engineer roles in Washington?
The H-1B is by far the most common visa for senior DevOps engineers in Washington. These roles consistently qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Some candidates also enter on L-1B intracompany transfer visas when moving from a multinational employer's foreign office to a Washington-based entity. Australians with qualifying backgrounds may also explore the E-3 visa with Washington employers.
Which cities in Washington have the most senior DevOps engineer sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Redmond account for the large majority of senior DevOps engineer sponsorship activity in Washington. Seattle's South Lake Union and Capitol Hill neighborhoods host Amazon, Google, Meta, and dozens of scale-up tech firms. Redmond is Microsoft's headquarters and generates substantial demand for cloud and platform engineering talent. Bellevue has grown significantly as a secondary tech hub, with employers like T-Mobile and Valve among active sponsors.
How to find senior devops engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for senior DevOps engineer roles in Washington without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces openings from companies with documented H-1B and E-3 filing histories in Washington, saving significant time. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate is the most direct way to identify active senior DevOps openings with confirmed sponsorship intent.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for senior DevOps engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Washington has no state income tax, which affects the prevailing wage analysis employers conduct when filing an LCA for H-1B roles. DOL prevailing wages for senior DevOps engineers in the Seattle metropolitan statistical area are among the highest in the country, reflecting local market rates. Employers filing in Washington must certify they'll pay at least the prevailing wage for the specific location. University of Washington and Washington State University also generate a notable share of OPT candidates who later transition to H-1B in DevOps roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior devops engineer jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
