Which companies sponsor visas for administrative assistants in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin employers with the HR infrastructure to sponsor administrative assistant roles tend to be large institutions rather than small businesses. UW Health, the University of Wisconsin system, Epic Systems, and Advocate Aurora Health have all sponsored administrative and professional support roles in the past. State government agencies and larger manufacturing firms in the Milwaukee metro area also appear in sponsorship filings, though frequency varies by department and budget cycle.
Which visa types are most common for administrative assistant roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common work visa for administrative assistant roles that qualify as specialty occupations, which generally requires demonstrating the position routinely requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Some university and research institution roles may also see J-1 visa exchange visitor placements. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, though administrative assistant roles must meet the relevant occupational criteria to qualify.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most administrative assistant sponsorship jobs?
Madison and Milwaukee account for the largest share of administrative assistant sponsorship activity in Wisconsin. Madison's concentration of state government offices, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and major employers like Epic Systems drives consistent demand. Milwaukee's healthcare corridor, anchored by Advocate Aurora Health and Froedtert Health, also generates administrative support hiring. Green Bay and Appleton see smaller but steady activity tied to regional healthcare networks and manufacturing operations.
How to find administrative assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it more efficient than broad job searches for administrative assistant roles in Wisconsin. You can search by role and state to surface positions at Wisconsin employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness. Focusing on Madison and Milwaukee tends to yield the most results, particularly at healthcare systems, universities, and large corporate headquarters with dedicated immigration support in their HR departments.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for administrative assistant sponsorship?
Wisconsin's administrative assistant sponsorship activity is shaped by its strong higher education and healthcare sectors, both of which are more accustomed to visa sponsorship than smaller private employers. The University of Wisconsin system's statewide footprint creates openings across multiple campuses beyond Madison. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply regardless of employer size, so positions at smaller Wisconsin organizations may face additional scrutiny when the offered role must demonstrate specialty occupation status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored administrative assistant jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
