Which companies sponsor visas for administrative assistants in Kentucky?
Healthcare and higher education employers lead visa sponsorship for administrative assistants in Kentucky. Humana and Kindred Healthcare in Louisville have sponsored administrative roles in the past, as have the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville. Large logistics and manufacturing firms with corporate offices in the state also appear in Department of Labor filing records for administrative support positions.
Which visa types are most common for administrative assistant roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B visa is the most frequently used visa for administrative assistant roles that require a qualifying specialty occupation, typically positions with significant project management, data analysis, or specialized coordination duties. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible occupations. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT status are often the most viable pathway for this role type, as general administrative positions can face closer scrutiny under H-1B specialty occupation standards.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most administrative assistant sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the largest share of administrative assistant sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by its concentration of healthcare corporations, financial services firms, and logistics companies. Lexington is a strong secondary market, anchored by the University of Kentucky and a growing professional services sector. Frankfort, as the state capital, offers government-adjacent administrative roles, though direct visa sponsorship from state agencies is uncommon.
How to find administrative assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to browse administrative assistant openings in Kentucky without sorting through roles that do not sponsor. You can filter by state and job category to surface relevant positions at Louisville-area healthcare employers, Lexington universities, and other Kentucky-based organizations that have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for administrative assistant sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky's administrative assistant market is heavily tied to healthcare and higher education, which tend to have more structured HR processes and familiarity with visa sponsorship compared to smaller regional employers. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements apply to any sponsored position, and Kentucky's cost of living influences what wage levels are set for these roles. Candidates with specialized skills in healthcare administration or academic program coordination tend to have stronger sponsorship prospects in this state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored administrative assistant jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
