Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for administrative assistants?
Technology firms along Utah's Wasatch Front, including Adobe, Qualtrics, and Ancestry, have histories of visa sponsorship for office and administrative roles. Large healthcare systems like Intermountain Health and the University of Utah Health also sponsor administrative staff. Government contractors based in the Salt Lake City area represent another consistent source of sponsorship activity for these positions.
Which visa types are most common for administrative assistant roles in Utah?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly used visa for administrative assistant roles, though sponsorship depends on the employer demonstrating the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Some candidates with specialized backgrounds in areas like healthcare administration or legal support may qualify. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain administrative classifications listed under USMCA.
Which cities in Utah have the most administrative assistant visa sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of administrative assistant sponsorship activity in Utah, given its concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and federal agencies. Provo and Orem, home to a growing technology sector and Brigham Young University, represent the second-largest cluster. Ogden has a smaller but active market tied to manufacturing, logistics, and Hill Air Force Base contractors.
How to find administrative assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters administrative assistant jobs in Utah by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through postings that don't support work authorization. You can search by city, filter by role type, and identify employers in Utah's tech and healthcare sectors that have active sponsorship histories for administrative positions.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for administrative assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Utah's tech industry, often called Silicon Slopes, has expanded sponsorship activity beyond engineering into operations and administrative support roles. Employers in this corridor tend to be more familiar with visa processes than smaller local businesses. Candidates with backgrounds in healthcare administration, legal support, or executive assistance may find stronger sponsorship interest, as those specializations help employers justify the specialty occupation classification required for H-1B petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored administrative assistant jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
