Which consumer goods companies in Wisconsin sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas?
SC Johnson in Racine has a documented history of sponsoring international talent in R&D and engineering roles. Kohl's corporate headquarters in Menomonee Falls actively hires for data analytics and technology positions that qualify under STEM OPT. Harley-Davidson, Land O'Lakes, and Sysco Wisconsin operations also appear in OFLC labor condition filings for STEM-eligible consumer goods roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by role and hiring cycle, so confirming with each employer's HR team directly is important.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most consumer goods F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee and its suburbs, including Menomonee Falls, Racine, and Kenosha, concentrate the largest share of consumer goods sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by corporate headquarters and regional distribution centers. Madison sees demand from food science and agricultural technology firms connected to the University of Wisconsin research ecosystem. Green Bay has consumer goods manufacturing roles, particularly in food processing and packaging, with some STEM-qualifying engineering and quality assurance positions.
What types of consumer goods roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles qualifying for the 24-month STEM OPT extension must be in a STEM-designated field per the Department of Homeland Security's official list and must directly use the degree the student earned. In consumer goods, qualifying positions commonly include supply chain data analyst, food science engineer, quality systems engineer, operations research analyst, and software developer roles within product or e-commerce teams. General marketing or sales roles without a quantitative or engineering component typically do not meet the STEM OPT criteria.
How do I find consumer goods F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and industry, letting you search consumer goods roles in Wisconsin where employers have active F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship history. Because OFLC labor condition application filings are public record, Migrate Mate uses that data to surface employers who have filed for STEM OPT workers, saving you from applying to companies that have never sponsored the extension. Filtering by Wisconsin location narrows results to employers operating in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Wisconsin's consumer goods sector?
Wisconsin does not impose additional state-level work authorization requirements beyond federal USCIS rules, but consumer goods employers in the state frequently operate under federal contractor status, particularly those supplying government food programs, which triggers E-Verify enrollment obligations. E-Verify participation is required for STEM OPT employers regardless, so this alignment matters less for STEM OPT specifically. Wisconsin's strong food and agriculture manufacturing base means many STEM-qualifying roles fall under food science and industrial engineering STEM degree classifications, which are firmly on the STEM designation list.
