Which artificial intelligence companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Wisconsin?
Epic Systems in Verona is one of Wisconsin's most active STEM OPT sponsors, hiring AI and data science talent for healthcare technology. Northwestern Mutual and American Family Insurance in Milwaukee sponsor machine learning and predictive analytics roles. Generac and Rockwell Automation also hire AI engineers with STEM OPT authorization. Sponsorship varies by role and team, so confirming active Labor Condition Application filings with each employer is recommended.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most artificial intelligence F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Madison leads Wisconsin for AI STEM OPT opportunities, driven by Epic Systems, UW-Madison research spinouts, and a cluster of healthtech and fintech startups. Milwaukee is the second strongest market, with insurance and financial services firms actively hiring for AI and machine learning roles. Waukesha and Appleton have smaller but growing AI employer bases, particularly in manufacturing automation and industrial AI applications.
What types of artificial intelligence roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that commonly qualify include machine learning engineer, data scientist, AI research scientist, natural language processing engineer, computer vision engineer, and MLOps engineer. These positions typically require a degree in computer science, statistics, electrical engineering, or a related STEM field. The role must appear on the USCIS list of STEM-designated degree programs, and the employer must be enrolled in E-Verify to authorize STEM OPT extensions.
How do I find artificial intelligence F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters AI jobs in Wisconsin by STEM OPT eligibility and employer sponsorship history, so you're not applying blind. This saves time compared to manually cross-referencing OFLC filings and job postings across multiple sources.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT in Wisconsin's AI sector?
Wisconsin's AI hiring is heavily shaped by healthcare IT and insurance, meaning many roles intersect with regulated data environments. Employers in these sectors may require additional background checks or security clearances that can affect onboarding timelines relative to your STEM OPT authorization window. UW-Madison's strong computer science and statistics programs also mean local competition for AI roles is high, so demonstrating practical experience with specific AI frameworks is important.
