Search Investment Management Jobs in WisconsinInvestment Management STEM OPT Sponsorship Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
Which investment management companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Wisconsin?
Milwaukee-based firms are the primary sponsors in Wisconsin's investment management sector. Northwestern Mutual, Robert W. Baird, and Fiserv have documented F-1 OPT hiring histories for quantitative and analytical roles. Insurance-adjacent asset managers and regional banks with investment arms also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application filings. STEM OPT sponsorship is most common in roles where the position ties directly to a STEM-designated degree program.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most investment management F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee accounts for the majority of investment management F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by its concentration of financial services headquarters and regional investment offices. Madison is a secondary market, with openings tied to the University of Wisconsin's research ecosystem and growing fintech presence. Smaller markets like Green Bay and Waukesha occasionally post roles but at significantly lower volume than Milwaukee.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify tend to require quantitative, data, or engineering skills tied to a STEM-designated degree. Common qualifying titles in investment management include quantitative analyst, risk analyst, data analyst, financial engineer, and portfolio analytics associate. Roles in client services or sales rarely qualify. The position's STEM degree classification must fall under a STEM-designated category as recognized by ICE and SEVP for the 24-month STEM OPT extension to apply.
How do I find investment management F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters investment management jobs by visa type and state, so you can search specifically for Wisconsin employers with F-1 STEM OPT hiring history in quantitative and analytical roles. This is more targeted than general job searches because it surfaces employers whose DOL filings confirm prior sponsorship activity. Focus your search on Milwaukee-headquartered firms and filter by STEM-eligible role categories to find the most relevant openings.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Wisconsin's investment management sector?
Wisconsin does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal obligations, but investment management employers in the state often prioritize candidates already on OPT rather than those needing initial status changes. Milwaukee's financial services cluster means many openings are at established firms with existing HR infrastructure for OPT compliance. Your DSO must authorize the STEM OPT extension before the role begins, and the employer must be enrolled in E-Verify as required by federal STEM OPT regulations.
