Which companies sponsor visas for office clerks in Wisconsin?
Healthcare networks are among the most active sponsors in Wisconsin, including Froedtert Health, UW Health, and Ascension Wisconsin. State agencies, the University of Wisconsin system, and large manufacturers like Harley-Davidson and Rockwell Automation also hire administrative support staff. Sponsorship depends heavily on whether the specific role qualifies as a specialty occupation under the relevant visa category.
Which visa types are most common for office clerk roles in Wisconsin?
H-1B is the most commonly pursued visa for office clerk roles that require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as healthcare administration or information management. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa for applicable administrative categories. Roles requiring only general clerical duties without a degree requirement may not meet specialty occupation standards under H-1B.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most office clerk sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's largest job market and has the highest concentration of office clerk sponsorship opportunities, driven by its healthcare, finance, and corporate sectors. Madison follows closely, supported by UW-Madison, state government offices, and a growing tech presence. Green Bay and Appleton also generate clerical hiring, particularly within healthcare and manufacturing administration.
How to find office clerk visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find office clerk roles in Wisconsin where employers are open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship eligibility, saving significant research time. Searching by Wisconsin and filtering for administrative or clerical roles lets you quickly identify which employers in Milwaukee, Madison, or Green Bay are actively hiring international candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for office clerk visa sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program mean employers must meet Department of Labor wage benchmarks for the Milwaukee or Madison metro areas, which differ from rural Wisconsin counties. The UW System and Marquette University create a pipeline of international students on OPT who often transition into clerical and administrative roles, making Wisconsin university towns particularly active for entry-level sponsorship hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored office clerk jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
