Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule all required annual in-service training for every department.
- Assess the nursing department’s training needs and develop appropriate educational programs.
- Develop and maintain an annual staff training calendar.
- Track nursing staff licenses and ensure all credentials remain current.
- Assist with training for individual departments as needed.
- Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures under the direction of the Executive Director.
- Develop and coordinate orientation programs for all new hires.
- Support probationary employees with job training, development, and performance improvement.
- Audit systems and processes to monitor compliance with applicable regulations and facility policies.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing (R.N.) program.
- Previous experience as an R.N. in a long-term care setting preferred.
- Must maintain an active Nevada R.N. license in good standing on the state registry.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Must comply with all attendance policies and procedures, including punctuality.
- Must comply with infectious disease policies and procedures, including tuberculosis screening requirements for healthcare workers.
