Which technology companies sponsor H-1B visas in Wyoming?
Wyoming's H-1B visa technology sponsors tend to be telecommunications companies, energy-sector software providers, and federal contractors with Wyoming operations. Lumen Technologies, which has infrastructure presence in the state, has filed H-1B petitions for technology roles. State government IT departments and defense contractors supporting F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as technology sponsors.
Which cities in Wyoming have the most technology H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Cheyenne accounts for the largest share of technology H-1B activity in Wyoming, driven by state government IT operations, federal contractors near F.E. Warren Air Force Base, and telecommunications infrastructure. Casper is the secondary market, with energy-sector software and IT services roles. Jackson and Laramie see occasional openings tied to hospitality technology and the University of Wyoming's research computing programs.
How do I find technology H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wyoming?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type and industry, making it straightforward to browse technology H-1B roles posted in Wyoming without sifting through listings from employers who don't sponsor. Because Wyoming's tech market is smaller, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for new Wyoming technology postings ensures you don't miss openings as they appear, since positions fill quickly in low-volume markets.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Wyoming?
Roles that consistently qualify as specialty occupations include software engineers, network engineers, systems administrators, cybersecurity analysts, and database administrators, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Wyoming's context, roles supporting energy management software, cloud infrastructure, and government IT systems are the most common qualifying positions. General IT support roles that don't require a specific degree field are less likely to qualify.
Are there any Wyoming-specific considerations for technology H-1B sponsorship?
Wyoming's H-1B technology market is significantly smaller than states like California or Texas, so the pool of active sponsors is narrower. Employers in Wyoming still must file a Labor Condition Application certifying the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the Cheyenne or Casper metropolitan area as determined by the Department of Labor. Because fewer companies have established H-1B programs, some Wyoming employers may be unfamiliar with the process, which can affect hiring timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B technology jobs in Wyoming?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
