Which companies sponsor visas for occupational therapists in Wyoming?
The most active sponsors for occupational therapists in Wyoming include Wyoming Medical Center, Banner Health, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, and HealthTech Hospital management groups serving critical access hospitals. Rehabilitation-focused staffing organizations contracted with Wyoming Department of Health facilities also file H-1B and EB-3 petitions for qualified international OTs. School districts with federally funded special education programs occasionally sponsor as well.
Which visa types are most common for occupational therapist roles in Wyoming?
H-1B is the most common visa for occupational therapists in Wyoming, as OT qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a master's degree. EB-3 immigrant visas are frequently used for permanent placement in underserved rural facilities. Some employers in shortage areas utilize the Schedule A designation, which allows bypassing the standard PERM labor market test for eligible healthcare workers including licensed OTs.
Which cities in Wyoming have the most occupational therapist sponsorship jobs?
Casper and Cheyenne generate the most occupational therapist sponsorship postings in Wyoming due to their larger hospital systems and rehabilitation centers. Laramie, home to the University of Wyoming Health Sciences programs, also sees consistent hiring. Smaller communities like Gillette, Rock Springs, and Sheridan actively recruit sponsored OTs to fill persistent shortages in rural and frontier-designated service areas.
How to find occupational therapist visa sponsorship jobs in Wyoming?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S., including occupational therapist roles in Wyoming. You can filter directly by state and role to see current openings at Wyoming hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and school districts that have a documented history of sponsoring international OTs. This removes the guesswork of identifying which employers are actually willing to sponsor.
Are there state-specific considerations for internationally trained occupational therapists working in Wyoming?
Wyoming requires OTs to hold a license from the Wyoming State Board of Occupational Therapy, including passing the NBCOT certification exam. Internationally trained applicants must have their credentials evaluated for equivalency before licensure. Wyoming's high proportion of frontier-designated counties means many positions qualify for federal shortage-area incentives, which can make employers in those areas more motivated to pursue sponsorship for qualified international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored occupational therapist jobs in Wyoming?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
