- Execute Vercel's flagship events: Support the editorial calendar and creative direction for Ship, Next.js Conf, and more coordinating across launches, narrative arcs, and the partner ecosystem.
- Deliver world-class execution: Lead end-to-end planning and stagecraft (budgeting, vendors, programming, production, branding, on-site ops) with clear targets for attendance, NPS, influenced pipeline, and content reach.
- Help shape the story: Collaborate with PMM and leadership to develop keynotes, demos, and narrative arcs; and help curate a speaker bench of customers, OSS leaders, and partners.

- Manage budgets and logistics: Track event spend, reconcile invoices, and support forecasting and ROI modeling; contribute to the event tech stack to attribute impact end to end.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams: Provide day-to-day coordination with design, video, and PMM, and manage agencies and contractors to deliver at scale.
- Support global programming: Assist with multi-region timing, localization, and follow-the-sun programming as Vercel expands tier-1 events internationally in 2026.
- Track and report on outcomes: Maintain KPIs for reach, engagement, pipeline impact, and brand lift—and surface data-driven insights to optimize future events.
- Experiment with format and experience: Contribute ideas and execution for in-person, hybrid, and virtual formats that meet our audiences where they are while staying true to Vercel's developer-first DNA.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Solid event management experience: 4–6 years in event planning and execution, including hands-on experience running conferences or product launches with 1000+ attendees.
- Familiarity with global industry stages: Working knowledge of events like AWS re:Invent, with the operational skill to execute effectively in competitive environments.
- Detail-oriented and organized: You thrive in the weeds—run-of-show documents, speaker prep, A/V coordination, and vendor management are where you shine.
- Commercial awareness: You understand how events connect to pipeline impact, sponsorship value, and ROI, and can report on those metrics clearly.
- Strong cross-functional collaborator: Skilled at working across teams and managing external partners to a high standard.
- Developer empathy: You understand how to speak to and design for technical audiences—engineers, CTOs, and product leaders.
- Operational rigor: Proven ability to deliver complex events on time and on budget, with solid contingency planning and attention to compliance.
BENEFITS:
- Competitive compensation package, including equity.
- Inclusive Healthcare Package.
- Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.

Frame your role as a specialty occupation
H-1B approval hinges on proving the job requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Highlight technical skills like budget management, vendor contract negotiation, and data-driven attendance analytics to strengthen the specialty occupation argument.
Target industries with strong sponsorship histories
Tech companies, financial institutions, and large hospitality groups sponsor Corporate Events Managers far more consistently than small businesses. Employers with dedicated legal teams are better equipped to navigate the H-1B petition process and absorb associated costs.
Quantify your event portfolio before interviews
Sponsors want evidence of scale and complexity. Come prepared with specific metrics: number of events managed annually, attendee counts, budget sizes, and measurable outcomes like lead generation or client retention rates tied to events you delivered.
Consider O-1B if your work demonstrates distinction
If you've managed high-profile events, received industry awards, or been featured in trade publications, the O-1B visa may be viable. It requires extraordinary ability but bypasses the H-1B lottery, making it a strong alternative for experienced professionals.
Get your degree evaluated early in the process
If your events management or hospitality degree is from outside the U.S., obtain a credential evaluation from a recognized service before applying. USCIS scrutinizes foreign degrees carefully, and a formal equivalency determination strengthens your petition significantly.
Engage an immigration attorney before accepting an offer
Corporate Events Manager petitions face inconsistent USCIS treatment because some officers question whether the role is a specialty occupation. An attorney can draft a stronger support letter and anticipate Requests for Evidence before they derail your timeline.

Find Corporate Events Manager JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can a Corporate Events Manager get H-1B visa sponsorship?
Yes, but approval is not guaranteed. USCIS evaluates whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a specific bachelor's degree. Employers strengthen petitions by documenting that the position demands specialized knowledge in areas like strategic event design, contract law, or integrated marketing, rather than general organizational skills any graduate could provide.
What degree do I need for a sponsored Corporate Events Manager role?
Most sponsoring employers require a bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality management, marketing, communications, or a closely related field. A general business degree may be accepted if your coursework included significant event or marketing components. USCIS looks for a direct connection between your degree field and the specific duties of the role.
Which employers are most likely to sponsor a Corporate Events Manager?
Large technology companies, investment banks, pharmaceutical firms, and major hotel and convention groups are the most active sponsors. These organizations run high-volume, complex event programs that justify the cost and legal complexity of sponsorship. You can browse verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate, which filters jobs by visa sponsorship availability for this role.
How does the H-1B lottery affect my chances as a Corporate Events Manager?
The standard H-1B cap applies, meaning your petition enters the annual lottery with approximately a 25% selection rate for most applicants. If you hold a U.S. master's degree, you're entered in the advanced degree pool first, which historically has offered slightly better odds. Cap-exempt employers, such as universities and certain nonprofits, bypass the lottery entirely.
Can I switch employers while on an H-1B as a Corporate Events Manager?
Yes. Under H-1B portability, you can start working for a new employer once they file a new H-1B petition on your behalf, without waiting for approval, provided your previous petition was approved and your status remained valid. Your new employer must file before your current status expires, and the role must still qualify as a specialty occupation.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Corporate Events Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
