How to Get Visa Sponsorship as an ERP Specialist
Target enterprise employers with established ERP platforms
Large manufacturers, hospital systems, and financial institutions run SAP or Oracle environments and routinely sponsor H-1B visas for ERP Specialists. These employers have existing immigration infrastructure, making the sponsorship process significantly faster and more straightforward.
Align your degree to the specific ERP system you support
USCIS evaluates specialty occupation based on whether your degree directly relates to the role. A degree in information systems, computer science, or business administration paired with ERP certification strengthens your petition considerably over a general IT background.
Get certified in the ERP platform before applying
SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud, and Microsoft Dynamics certifications signal measurable expertise to both employers and USCIS. Certified candidates face fewer Requests for Evidence on specialty occupation grounds, which reduces processing delays and petition risk.
Highlight module-specific experience in your application materials
ERP Specialists with deep expertise in a specific module, such as SAP FICO, Oracle HCM, or Dynamics Supply Chain, are harder to replace than generalists. Module specialization makes the case for H-1B sponsorship easier for employers to justify internally.
Look for roles in implementation consulting and systems integration
ERP consulting firms and systems integrators like Deloitte, Accenture, and Infosys sponsor H-1B visas at high volumes. Project-based implementation roles often include visa sponsorship as a standard offering because demand for qualified ERP talent consistently outpaces domestic supply.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified sponsoring employers
Not every ERP job posting includes sponsorship details upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers with confirmed H-1B sponsorship history, so you spend time applying to positions where visa support is already part of the hiring process.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does an ERP Specialist role qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship?
Yes, ERP Specialist positions almost always qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B criteria because they require theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge in enterprise software. USCIS has consistently approved H-1B petitions for SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics roles when the employer demonstrates the position requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field like information systems, computer science, or accounting.
What degree do I need for an employer to sponsor my H-1B as an ERP Specialist?
Most ERP Specialist roles require a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or accounting, depending on which modules you support. Finance-focused modules like SAP FICO or Oracle Financials may favor accounting or finance degrees, while technical integration roles lean toward computer science or MIS. Your degree field needs to have a logical connection to the specific ERP functions in your job description, not just to software broadly.
Which industries sponsor the most ERP Specialists on H-1B visas?
Manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services are the largest sponsors of ERP Specialists on H-1B visas, driven by the complexity of their operations and long-term SAP and Oracle contracts. IT consulting and systems integration firms also sponsor at high volumes because they staff ERP implementations across multiple client industries. Browse Migrate Mate to find open roles filtered by employers with verified sponsorship history across these sectors.
Can I get H-1B sponsorship as an ERP Specialist if my degree is in a different field?
It depends on how closely your degree relates to your ERP role. USCIS allows related fields, so a finance degree supporting SAP FICO or a supply chain degree supporting Oracle SCM can still qualify. If your degree is unrelated, three years of directly relevant work experience can substitute for one year of education under specialty occupation rules, though this path faces more scrutiny and employers may hesitate to take on the added petition risk.
How competitive is H-1B approval for ERP Specialist positions compared to other IT roles?
ERP Specialist petitions have a strong approval track record because the specialty occupation argument is well-established and well-documented in prior USCIS decisions. Petitions supported by detailed job descriptions tying specific ERP module responsibilities to degree requirements see lower Request for Evidence rates than generic IT roles. Approval rates improve further when the employer can demonstrate the position is distinct from general IT support and requires the specific technical knowledge that only a relevant degree program develops.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Erp Specialist jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
