Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Gtm Manager
Frame your degree as directly relevant
USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims for GTM roles. A degree in marketing, business administration, or economics strengthens your case considerably. If your degree is in an unrelated field, document how your coursework directly maps to go-to-market strategy.
Document your cross-functional leadership scope
GTM Managers who can demonstrate ownership of product launches, pipeline strategy, or revenue targets are easier for employers to sponsor. Quantified outcomes, such as markets entered or growth attributed to your work, reinforce the complexity of the role.
Ask about sponsorship early in the process
Raise visa sponsorship in the first or second recruiter conversation, not after an offer. Most SaaS companies have a clear yes-or-no policy. Asking early saves weeks of time and signals you understand the process.
Understand the H-1B cap timeline
H-1B registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you're not selected in the lottery, cap-exempt employers like universities or nonprofits can sponsor year-round. Planning around this calendar is essential for GTM Manager candidates.
Browse verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Not every company that posts a GTM Manager role will sponsor visas. Migrate Mate filters job listings to surface employers actively open to sponsorship, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship isn't available.

Find Gtm Manager JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does a GTM Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, in most cases. USCIS evaluates whether the position normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. GTM Manager roles that require degrees in marketing, business strategy, or economics generally qualify. Roles where the employer accepts any degree regardless of field can face Requests for Evidence, so job description language matters significantly.
What degree do I need for an employer to sponsor me as a GTM Manager?
Most employers require a bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a closely related field. Some will accept degrees in economics or data analytics if your experience directly supports a strategic go-to-market function. A degree in an unrelated field, like history or fine arts, makes sponsorship harder unless supplemented by substantial documented experience.
Which types of companies are most likely to sponsor GTM Managers?
Series B and later-stage SaaS companies, enterprise software vendors, and cloud infrastructure firms sponsor GTM Managers most frequently. These employers have established legal teams experienced with H-1B filings. Early-stage startups may be willing but lack the infrastructure and financial runway to support multi-year sponsorship. Browse Migrate Mate to find employers currently open to sponsorship for this role.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new employer if I switch GTM roles?
Yes. H-1B portability allows you to start working for a new employer as soon as they file a transfer petition, without waiting for approval, provided your previous H-1B was approved and you've maintained valid status. The new employer files a fresh I-129, and your GTM responsibilities must still qualify as a specialty occupation under the new job description.
How does the H-1B lottery affect my chances as a GTM Manager candidate?
The H-1B lottery applies equally to all cap-subject petitions regardless of job title. In recent years, selection rates have hovered around 25%. If you're not selected, options include reapplying the following year, pursuing an O-1A if you have notable industry recognition, or targeting cap-exempt employers such as universities or nonprofit research organizations that can file year-round outside the lottery.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Gtm Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
