Implementation Consultant Jobs in USA with Visa Sponsorship
Implementation Consultant roles attract strong H-1B visa and TN visa sponsorship because the work sits at the intersection of software expertise and client-facing delivery, a combination most employers treat as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field. What you will be doing:
As an Associate Implementation Consultant at Illumia, specializing as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our NetMenu platform, you will play a critical role in delivering both on-site and remote implementations for our Healthcare clients. Your expertise in clinical settings or experience working within Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) alongside dietary teams will be essential as you lead the deployment of NetMenu for clinical and patient operations. You will guide clients through best practices, ensuring successful outcomes and improved patient experiences.
- Lead on-site and remote implementations of the NetMenu platform, focusing on clinical and patient operations within healthcare environments
- Deliver comprehensive training to hospital and dietary teams, sharing best practices tailored to clinical workflows and patient care
- Collaborate closely with both internal teams and healthcare clients to ensure NetMenu is effectively integrated into clinical and dietary operations
- Maintain documentation, including agendas, status reports, and implementation plans
- Meet revenue and billable utilization goals through effective project delivery and client satisfaction
- Continuously expand your knowledge of NetMenu and related Illumia systems to remain the go-to expert for clinical, dietary, and patient operations implementations
Who you will work with:
- External customers
- Internal customers including Implementation, Project Managers, Database Services, FNS Integration Services, Sales, Support and Managed Services
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or 1 to 3 years of related experience in food production (kitchen and dietary experience)
- Strong experience with relevant systems and proficiency in training and presenting
- Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, and human relations skills

Essential Functions of the job:
The duties and responsibilities described in this job description are intended to represent the essential functions of the position as defined under applicable federal, state, and local labor laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These functions are the fundamental job duties required for successful performance.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions unless such accommodations impose an undue hardship on the organization.
This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities. Duties may be added, removed, or modified at any time in accordance with business needs and applicable law.
What is good to know:
- Travel is required for this position and will fluctuate based on client needs, typically ranging from 50% to 75%, with travel primarily occurring Monday through Thursday.
- Home office-based when not traveling.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Humble: The right leaders for Illumia don't need to own the spotlight — they share credit, define success collectively, and are quick to elevate the contributions of others. This is a company that still writes its story. The leaders who thrive here find energy in building something together, not in being recognized as the smartest person in the room.
- Hungry: We are not looking for caretakers. We are looking for leaders who are restless about what's possible, self-motivated to close the gap between where we are today and where we need to be, and who are already thinking about the next opportunity before anyone asks.
- Smart: At Illumia, our leaders must operate across a complex, distributed organization spanning multiple product lines, two legacy cultures, and thousands of customers with competing priorities. Technical skills matter, but the ability to read a room, build trust across functions, and bring people along is what separates a great leader from one who burns the organization out.
This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and applicable state wage-and-hour laws.
What you get when you join our team:
- Flexible time off to include paid holidays and volunteer time.
- Robust health, dental, and vision insurance plans on your first day of employment
- Employer-paid life insurance/AD&D/short-term and long-term disability insurance
- Comprehensive employee assistance program (EAP)
- Flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA)
- Matched 401(k)
- Employee stock purchase plan
Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions.
Illumia is an equal employment opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, gender, age, religion, national origin, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, protected military/veteran status, or any other protected factor.

Frame your degree as technical, not generic
H-1B approval for Implementation Consultants hinges on demonstrating a direct link between your degree field and the role. Degrees in computer science, information systems, or engineering typically clear USCIS scrutiny. Business administration degrees alone often do not.
Target mid-market software vendors first
Companies selling ERP, CRM, or SaaS platforms to enterprise clients hire Implementation Consultants at scale and routinely sponsor visas. These employers have established immigration counsel and predictable hiring cycles, making sponsorship conversations far more straightforward than at smaller firms.
Highlight specific platform certifications
Salesforce, SAP, Workday, or ServiceNow certifications signal role-specific expertise that strengthens both your candidacy and the employer's H-1B petition. USCIS evaluates whether the position genuinely requires specialized knowledge, and product certifications support that argument directly.
Understand TN eligibility if you're Canadian or Mexican
Canadian and Mexican nationals can qualify for TN status as a Systems Analyst or Computer Systems Analyst, which often covers Implementation Consultant work. TN requires no lottery, no cap, and can be obtained at the border, making it significantly faster than H-1B.
Get the job description right before the petition
USCIS scrutinizes job descriptions for specialty occupation evidence. Work with your employer's immigration attorney to ensure duties emphasize technical system configuration, integration design, and solution architecture rather than generic project management or client relationship language.
Use Migrate Mate to target verified sponsoring employers
Not every company listing this role will sponsor a visa. Migrate Mate filters Implementation Consultant postings to show employers with active sponsorship history, saving you from pursuing roles where sponsorship was never a realistic option.

Is Implementation Consultant a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It can be, but it depends on how the role is defined. USCIS approves H-1B petitions for Implementation Consultants when the position demonstrably requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering. Roles framed primarily around client management or project coordination without a technical degree requirement face higher RFE rates. The job description and employer support are critical.
What degree do I need to get sponsored as an Implementation Consultant?
Most sponsors require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, or a related technical discipline. Some employers accept engineering or mathematics degrees when the role involves complex software configuration or integration work. A general business degree alone typically won't support an H-1B petition for this title, though product certifications from vendors like Salesforce or SAP can strengthen a borderline case.
Do Implementation Consultant roles get denied often under H-1B?
Implementation Consultant petitions receive Requests for Evidence more frequently than pure software engineering roles because the title sounds generalist to USCIS adjudicators. Denial rates drop significantly when the petition includes a detailed duty description emphasizing technical configuration, API integration, or system architecture, along with evidence that the employer normally requires a specific technical degree for the position. An experienced immigration attorney materially improves outcomes.
Can I use the TN visa as an Implementation Consultant?
Yes, if you're Canadian or Mexican and your role aligns with the Computer Systems Analyst category under USMCA. Implementation Consultants who configure, integrate, or customize enterprise software systems generally qualify. You'll need a degree in computer science or a related field, a detailed offer letter describing technical duties, and documentation showing the position requires professional-level systems analysis work. TN approval is adjudicated at the port of entry, making it faster than H-1B.
Where can I find Implementation Consultant jobs that will actually sponsor my visa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this problem. It surfaces Implementation Consultant roles from employers with verified visa sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications on companies that have sponsored work visas before rather than guessing from generic job listings. Filtering by sponsorship willingness is the most efficient way to spend your job search time in a tight visa timeline.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Implementation Consultant jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
