How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Solutions Lead
Confirm the role meets specialty occupation standards
Solutions Lead positions qualify for H-1B sponsorship when they require a specific degree, such as computer science, engineering, or business. Avoid applying to roles where the job posting says a degree is preferred rather than required.
Target employers with an H-1B filing history
Companies that have previously sponsored H-1B workers are far more likely to sponsor again. Focus your search on mid-to-large technology, consulting, and enterprise software firms with established immigration support and in-house legal teams.
Understand that O-1A is a strong alternative if H-1B lottery fails
Solutions Leads with documented achievements, such as major client wins, industry recognition, or published work, may qualify for the O-1A visa. Unlike H-1B, there is no lottery, and petitions can be filed at any time.
Frame your degree as directly tied to the role
Consular officers and USCIS adjudicators look for a clear connection between your academic background and the Solutions Lead function. A degree in computer science, systems engineering, or management information systems strengthens your petition considerably.
Ask about the LCA process early in conversations with employers
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before submitting your H-1B petition. Asking early signals you understand the process, and it helps you gauge whether the employer has done this before.
Use Migrate Mate to find roles where sponsorship is already confirmed
Searching Migrate Mate filters out companies that do not sponsor, saving significant time in your job search. Every role listed is vetted for sponsorship willingness, which is especially useful for Solutions Lead positions that vary widely by employer.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can a Solutions Lead role qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship?
Yes, Solutions Lead roles regularly qualify for H-1B sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as computer science, engineering, or business administration. The key test is whether the job consistently and normally requires a degree in a related discipline, not just any field.
What degree do I need to get sponsored as a Solutions Lead?
Most sponsoring employers require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or business. Some accept degrees in related fields combined with equivalent work experience under the three-for-one rule, where three years of relevant experience can substitute for one year of formal education. Your degree field should have a clear, logical connection to the Solutions Lead function.
How likely is it that a company will sponsor a Solutions Lead position?
Sponsorship is most common at mid-to-large technology, SaaS, and enterprise consulting companies where Solutions Lead is a defined technical or pre-sales role requiring specialized knowledge. Smaller firms or those where the title covers general account management are less likely to sponsor, since the specialty occupation argument is harder to make when the role doesn't require a specific degree field.
Does my Solutions Lead role qualify for the O-1A visa if I don't win the H-1B lottery?
It can, if you meet at least three of the O-1A criteria, which include high salary relative to peers, critical roles at distinguished organizations, original contributions, judging others' work, or membership in selective professional associations. Solutions Leads who have led high-value implementations, received industry recognition, or contributed to published research are well-positioned. Unlike H-1B, there is no lottery or annual cap.
Where can I find Solutions Lead jobs that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient starting point because every listing is filtered for sponsorship willingness, so you're not wasting time cold-emailing companies that won't sponsor. This matters for Solutions Lead roles specifically, since sponsorship availability varies significantly depending on how the company defines and scopes the position internally.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Solutions Lead jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
