Warehouse Clerk Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a warehouse clerk in New York?
New York does not require a state-issued license to work as a warehouse clerk, so the path centers on education and on-the-job credentials. Most employers accept a high school diploma or GED and train new hires in-house on their specific systems and equipment. Completing an OSHA 10-hour general industry safety course strengthens any application, and forklift certification from a New York State-approved trainer is a meaningful differentiator for roles that involve powered industrial equipment.
Which companies hire warehouse clerks in New York?
Employers hiring warehouse clerks in New York right now include Costco Wholesale, ABM Industries, and Fenix Parts, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense network of e-commerce fulfillment centers, grocery distribution operations, and regional retail hubs means openings cycle through regularly across all five boroughs and the surrounding metro counties.
Which New York cities have the most warehouse clerk jobs?
Bethpage, Binghamton, and Elma have the most warehouse clerk openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its enormous consumer base and the concentration of last-mile delivery and wholesale distribution infrastructure in the outer boroughs, while Buffalo and Albany serve as regional logistics hubs with strong manufacturing and retail supply chain operations anchored by large national distributors.
Are there remote warehouse clerk jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Warehouse clerk work is fundamentally hands-on, requiring physical presence to receive shipments, manage inventory, and process orders on-site. About 0% of warehouse clerk openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those roles tend to involve administrative inventory coordination or data entry rather than floor-level warehouse operations.
How can I get hired as a warehouse clerk in New York with little or no experience?
The most direct path is applying to seasonal or temp-to-hire warehouse associate roles through staffing agencies that partner with large New York distribution centers, since these positions routinely convert to permanent warehouse clerk roles after 90 days. Employers like Amazon, FedEx, and major grocery distributors operating in the outer boroughs and Long Island regularly onboard candidates with no prior warehouse background through structured new-hire training programs. Completing an OSHA 10-hour general industry course before applying gives candidates a concrete credential that signals safety awareness and seriousness.
Where can I find and apply to warehouse clerk jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to warehouse clerk jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state updated in real time. Find roles that fit your experience level and location and apply directly without creating an account or signing up.
