Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s general ledger and core accounting records. This position is primarily responsible for cash and treasury management, maintaining the general ledger, processing payroll, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, reviewing preliminary financial statements, and supporting month-end close activities. This role emphasizes transactional accounting accuracy, reconciliations, payroll support, and financial record maintenance in a deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and experienced in high-volume transactional accounting environments.-
Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily cash reconciliation
- Assist with cash disbursements
- Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries
- Process payroll and ensure accurate payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations
- Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts
- Lead assigned month-end and year-end close activities
- Conduct preliminary review of financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and unusual variances
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and subledgers
- Ensure accuracy of financial data and supporting schedules
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and amortization entries
- Support audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation
- Monitor accounting transactions for compliance with company policy and GAAP
- Assist with process standardization and documentation
- Review large data sets and identify posting or coding errors
- Partner with AP, AR, payroll, and operations teams to ensure accurate accounting entries-
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 4+ years of accounting or general ledger experience
- Strong understanding of debits, credits, accrual accounting, and reconciliations
- Experience with ERP systems such as:
o IFS
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a close-driven environment
