INTRODUCTION
INTEGRIS Health Cardiovascular Physicians, Advanced Cardiac Care, team of caregivers with Pulmonary Hypertension are committed to treating and managing PH. Our center is Oklahoma's only nationally accredited Pulmonary Hypertension Care Center, leading the way in PH care. Priority is for improved patient access working on our team of APRNs collaborating with Physicians to deliver outstanding care on the Baptist Medical Center campus, NW Oklahoma City. Normal schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Advanced Practice Provider (ICP) provides medical consultation, routine patient care, and follow-up to specialty populations. This is a professional level position working under limited direction in coordination with Medical Providers. Typical work requires specialized knowledge, critical thinking, and sound judgement based upon principles of biologic, physiological, behavioral and sociological sciences skills, as well as strong customer service skills. Internal interdisciplinary and external communication skills are essential. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.
The Advanced Practice Provider (ICP) responsibilities include, and are not limited to, the following:
- Initiates and completes detailed patient assessment including diagnoses the actual or potential health problem or need, based upon an analysis of the data collected, and plans therapeutic intervention.
- Orders and initiates appropriate laboratory tests, radiological examinations, other routine diagnostic procedures, medication, treatment, and consultation based upon an analysis of the data collected.
- Educates the patient regarding prescribed treatment and medication(s).
- Maintains timely documentation of the patient's medical record under the direction of the physician responsible.
- Outreach clinic responsibilities based on program/clinic needs
- On-call responsibilities based on program/clinic specific needs
- Regulatory compliance based on specific program/clinic requirements. This includes Quality & Multidisciplinary Team engagement.
- On-going competencies for equipment and procedures based on program/clinic specific needs
- Reports to the supervising Manager/Director.
This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals. Must follow standard precautions. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires a degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program or accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Acute Care certification required.
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or APRN in the state of Oklahoma.
- Requires current BLS certification.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- If the position requires occasional travel, the incumbents must be able to operate an INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non-INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Driver's License from the state of residence, as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
